BBQ chicken recipe

Here’s a classic BBQ chicken recipe that’s perfect for grilling and will give you tender, juicy, and flavorful chicken:

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken breasts (boneless and skinless) or 8 chicken thighs (bone-in or boneless)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions:

Prepare the Marinade

  • In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Marinate the Chicken:

  • Place the chicken in a large zip-top bag or a shallow dish.
  • Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are well-coated.
  • Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably 4-6 hours, or overnight for the best flavor.

Preheat the Grill:

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375-400°F or 190-200°C).
  • Oil the grill grates lightly to prevent sticking.

Grill the Chicken:

  • Remove the chicken from the marinade and let any excess drip off.
  • Place the chicken on the preheated grill. Cook for about 6-8 minutes per side for boneless breasts, or 8-10 minutes per side for bone-in thighs. Adjust cooking time as needed based on the thickness of the chicken pieces.
  • Baste the chicken with BBQ sauce during the last few minutes of cooking, flipping and basting a couple of times to build up a nice glaze.

Check for Doneness:

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Rest and Serve:

  • Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
  • Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side, along with your favorite sides like coleslaw, corn on the cob, or potato salad.

    Enjoy your delicious BBQ chicken!
